Court Clash

Privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to the Court Clash mobile application and our website. It explains what personal data we collect, how we use it and what your rights are under the GDPR. Last updated: 30 September 2026.

1. Introduction

This privacy policy aims to inform you in a clear and transparent way about how Court Clash collects and processes your personal data when you use the Service (the Court Clash mobile app and related services).

2. Definitions

“Service” refers to the Court Clash mobile application and related features (account creation, court search, match organisation, notifications and so on). “Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as an email address, device identifier or location data.

3. General principles

We process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. Processing is based on defined legal grounds, pursues explicit purposes, is limited to what is necessary, follows appropriate retention periods and is protected by suitable security measures.

4. Data collected and how we collect it

Account: email address, username and password, or the sign-in details you authorise through Apple or Google. Profile: date of birth, country and profile photo, if you provide them. Play: match scores confirmed by both players, leagues, tournaments, rankings, court messages and presence on a court. With your permission: device location to suggest nearby courts, court photos, an Expo push token, and, if you turn it on, the basketball session read from Apple Health, Health Connect or a linked Garmin account (duration, heart rate, calories) so it can be attached to the match. Court Clash does not change that health data and does not receive your card number. For Court Clash+, your account identifier is sent to RevenueCat, which checks the App Store or Google Play to see whether the subscription is active. Website: the email entered in the newsletter form is sent to the Court Clash team so we can write to you. Technical data: operating system and logs needed to keep the Service secure.

5. Purposes of processing

Your data is used to create and manage your account, run matches, rankings, leagues, tournaments and courts, send the notifications you accept, check the Court Clash+ subscription, secure the Service, answer support, and, on the website, send the newsletter if you sign up. Videos posted on Court Clash's official TikTok and Instagram accounts are produced by the team, not from players' match data.

6. Legal bases

Depending on the situation, processing is based on performance of a contract (acceptance of the Terms of Use, and of the terms of sale if you subscribe to Court Clash+), your consent (for example location, notifications, camera, photo library or health data), a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests (securing the Service, preventing abuse, improving features). You can withdraw a permission at any time in your phone settings.

7. Recipients and data sharing

Service data is hosted by Supabase. Push notifications go through Expo. Court Clash+ payment is collected by Apple or Google, depending on the store. RevenueCat receives only the Court Clash account identifier and the subscription status, not the payment method. The website newsletter is sent to the Court Clash team via Resend. Apple or Google receive only what you authorise when you sign in with their account. These providers act to deliver the Service. No data is sold. If data is transferred outside the European Union, appropriate safeguards are in place, in particular the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

8. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as you actively use the Service. In case of prolonged inactivity, your data may be archived for up to three years before being deleted or anonymised, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Notification identifiers (push tokens) are deleted as soon as you withdraw your consent to notifications or delete your account.

9. Your rights

Under applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and restrict your data, the right to object to processing, the right to data portability and the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at contact@courtclash.app. We will respond within one month, subject to proof of identity.

10. Account deletion and revoking permissions

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or by contacting us. You can also disable the collection of certain data, such as location or push notifications, directly in your device or app settings. Deleting your account leads to the deletion or anonymisation of your data, except where we must retain certain data for legal or evidential reasons. Deleting your Court Clash account does not cancel a Court Clash+ subscription taken out on the App Store or Google Play: you must cancel it in the store.

11. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 15 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors who do not meet this age requirement. If we learn that an account has been created in violation of this rule, we will take appropriate steps to delete the related data.

12. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. Communication with our servers is protected by encrypted protocols (HTTPS/TLS), and access to data is limited to people who need it for their duties.

13. Publishing on social networks (TikTok and Instagram)

This section concerns only Court Clash's official accounts, not players' app accounts. Court Clash uses an internal tool, "CourtClash Publisher", to publish videos on its official TikTok and Instagram accounts (@courtclash.app). This tool only connects to accounts owned by Court Clash, through the official APIs of TikTok (Login Kit and Content Posting API) and Meta (Instagram API). When an account is connected, we only receive basic account information (identifier, display name, profile picture) and access tokens, which are used exclusively to publish videos manually approved by our team. Tokens are encrypted, hosted by our provider Supabase, never shared or sold, and never used for advertising or profiling. We do not collect any data about people who view our posts. Videos are generated with artificial intelligence tools (Higgsfield) from text written by our team, without using any personal data from app users.

14. Revoking access and deleting social network data

Access granted to CourtClash Publisher can be revoked at any time: on TikTok, in Settings and privacy > Security > App permissions; on Instagram, in Settings > Apps and websites. Tokens are automatically deleted as soon as the account is disconnected from the tool. To request deletion of data related to these connections (tokens, account information, publishing history), email contact@courtclash.app with the subject "Social network data deletion". The data is deleted within 30 days and a confirmation is sent to you.

15. Changes to this privacy policy

We may modify this privacy policy to reflect changes in the Service, legal or regulatory requirements or our internal practices. The date of the latest update is indicated at the bottom of the version published on our website. We encourage you to consult this page regularly.
